Mulheres Huni Kui participaram, nos dias 22, 23, 29 e 30 de junho e 06 e 05 de julho, de oficinas de Tecelagem e Miçanga no Centro Huwa Karu Yuxibu, localizado na zona rural de Rio Branco (AC). Vinte mulheres, desde meninas até idosas, estiveram na oficina: além de moradoras do Centro Huwa Karu Yuxibu, também mulheres residentes na capital acreana. Bismani Huni Kui, mestre das oficinas, apresentou às mulheres os Kene (grafismos), culinária, canto e cosmologia do povo Huni Kui.

Organizadas pelo COMIN, as oficinas tinham o objetivo de capacitar mulheres Huni Kui para a produção de tecelagem com barbantes e miçangas, fortalecer sua identidade cultural, estimular canais de comercialização e promover a participação em feiras e artesanatos. O resultado foi muito satisfatório: além dos objetivos terem sido atingidos, houve o maior envolvimento das mulheres Huni Kui que vivem na cidade de Rio Branco com aquelas do Centro Huwa Karu Yuxibu, o estímulo à autonomia econômica dessas mulheres e um resgate dos grafismos dos Kenes Huni Kui.
